One day, she accidentally spots a woman believed to be part of a "cult" in the city and decides to follow her. At the end of her pursuit, a ritual for the resurrection of the noble mushi is being conducted. Karen tries to stop the ritual but is captured and instead becomes a breeding ground for the mushi. Having a drug applied that heightens her sensitivity, she finds herself unable to resist as she is alternately assaulted by a horde of giant grasshoppers, termites, and creatures resembling caterpillars.
