The story is set in the world of Eushully's setting "Dir-Lifina," featuring the "Melkia Empire," which appears in the War Goddess series. In this country, which has grown by developing the mechanical technology known as "magic engineering," the protagonist, Viceheight, one of the commanders, aims for promotion to Marshal and national unification in this strategy simulation game focused on territorial conquest. ■ Story The Melkia Empire, a strong nation referred to as one of the five great countries on the Raulbarsh continent, is currently facing fierce attacks from its arch-enemy, the Yun-Gasor United Nations, in the eastern region of Centax. Under the Emperor's rule, alongside four capable generals known as the "Four Marshals," the news of the eastern region's Marshal's death in battle enrages the Melkia Emperor, who sends reinforcements to the grim battlefield of Centax. Among them is the protagonist, Viceheight Zelinder, who is merely a general from the southern region. ■ System The goal of this game is to conquer bases and achieve national unification. As you capture the opponent's bases, you can form alliances, wage wars to conquer and destroy nations, and expand the Melkia Empire, getting closer to your objective. ● Strategic Operations A major feature of this game is "nation-building and city-building," with each of the 100 bases having a "base map" that integrates tactics (combat) and city-building. You can freely construct or demolish buildings and military bases by investing resources and funds, aiming for the prosperity of the nation while considering efficiency, such as building walls in territories adjacent to enemy nations or establishing mining facilities in rumored mineral-rich lands. Additionally, there are various options for scouting generals, building brothels for lewd activities, and setting traps or shooting facilities for automatic retaliation against enemy invasions. Each base has unique characteristics, such as specialty products and races, meaning that many items cannot be created without resources. While trade can usually cover these, wars can also be initiated for the sake of material desires. The semi-free scenario system allows for declarations of war at will. Furthermore, buildings themselves serve as commands or buttons that aid in national management, allowing you to execute choices like changing military equipment, conducting research, and sourcing specialty products by pressing the buildings you have placed. Conversely, if you are not interested in executing certain commands, you can simply avoid building related structures, allowing for a customizable interface tailored to each user's preferences. Since this is turn-based, as long as you have capital, you can engage in city-building and military preparations. ● Combat During battles, you fight in the layout of the towns you have established, experiencing a realistic combat style where you can either ravage and destroy your built cities or defend them by placing your army at the forefront, or by besieging to buy time. If you occupy with minimal damage, the buildings can become your own, so enemies may intentionally destroy their own buildings to retreat. The combat system is based on RTS (Real-Time Strategy), where you give movement and attack orders to your units and fight within the map. The basics involve "movement," "formation," and "strategy," with techniques available for executing tactics. Even those unfamiliar with real-time operations can enjoy gameplay by simply dragging a maximum of three units and pitting them against advantageous opponents. You can also swap in reserve units (up to seven units) to wear down enemy units or facilities. Successful sieges due to time limits mean that pre-battle city-building, such as the placement of walls and traps, becomes an important strategic operation. ● Magic Engineering Shells The Melkia Empire possesses four small humanoid weapons known as magic engineering shells, each assigned to one of the Four Marshals. Once the protagonist acquires the magic engineering shell "Al," she can uniquely exchange body parts and change costumes, specializing in "magic type" or "weapon type," focusing on melee, general-purpose, or long-range capabilities. However, as this is an important weapon in the story, its destruction results in game over. ● Game Controls While the combat uses RTS, the operation is designed to allow players familiar with visual novels to enjoy the adventure part with mouse controls and seamlessly transition into real-time combat. Basic operations involve selecting units and clicking on the desired movement location, and for gamers looking for more advanced tactical operations, such as selecting multiple units or retreating without changing direction, shortcut functions are available. City-building allows you to place buildings according to your preferences, or you can play in a way that progresses urban planning automatically. ■ Characters 【Melkia Empire Army Commander】 ● Viceheight Zelinder (CV: Shikiro) A general leading the military under his successor, Chancellor Orphan. He is dispatched to reclaim the eastern Centax region, which has been taken by the enemy nation. He possesses a military-like sincerity and strength, along with a pleasant demeanor (especially towards women), embodying seemingly contradictory traits. Born as a bastard child of the former emperor and a servant, he holds the life lesson that adversity strengthens a person. "Do you not wish to test which is stronger, weaponry or magic?" 【General Zelinder's Aide】 ● Riselle Lurson (CV: Kitami Rikka) The only daughter of Chancellor Orphan, she possesses the rare talent of "perfect memory." She accompanies Viceheight as an aide, sharing hardships with him. Her ability to never forget what she has seen or heard keeps alive the memories of her mother, who passed away when she was young. In the past, she had closed her heart but was saved by Viceheight's friendly personality. Thus, she has resolved to walk alongside Viceheight for the rest of her life. "Your voice always fills me with joy." 【Magic Engineering Shell】 ● Al (CV: Shinozaki Futaba) A mechanical doll about 70 centimeters tall, known as a "magic engineering shell." She has a weak emotional capacity and always thinks and acts logically. She is named after the Moon Goddess Altanue, who governs the "Dark Moon," one of the four moons existing in Dir-Lifina. Due to certain circumstances, she ends up spending time beside Viceheight, developing an interest in his personality and learning from his actions and thoughts. "I have a question. What kind of state does the term 'sad' indicate?"
