Solomon Sea War History DX Bunko Edition" is a naval battle simulation game that recreates the fleet battles between the Japanese and American navies in the Solomon Islands during the mid-Pacific War. Players take on the role of fleet commanders, directing their fleets in terms of course, speed, and target shooting while engaging in battles against enemy fleets. The game features a total of 134 classes of warships, including battleships, cruisers, destroyers, and transport ships from nine countries, including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Notable Japanese naval ships such as the "Hiei" and "Kirishima," as well as cruisers like "Aoba," "Choukai," and "Tenryuu," and destroyers such as "Ayanami" and "Kagerou," are included. Additionally, uncompleted ships like the "Super Heavy Cruiser" and "Super Yamato" are also represented. On the opposing side, numerous Allied ships such as the "Boise," "Helena," and "South Dakota" appear, along with bonus units including European ships like the "Bismarck," "Nelson," and "Richelieu." Each ship is equipped with detailed data, and armaments such as main guns, secondary guns, anti-aircraft guns, and torpedo launchers are treated individually by turret. There is also a campaign scenario that recreates the battles of the Solomon Sea, and a free setup scenario where players can freely configure the forces of both sides.
