Players take on the role of a tank unit commander (at the company level) and issue commands for each tank under their command, such as movement direction and shooting targets, while engaging in combat against enemy tank units. The nations featured in the game include Germany, Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union, France, Italy, Poland, Hungary, and Japan, totaling nine countries. The game features 171 types of vehicles, including tanks, assault guns, tank destroyers, half-tracks, and armored vehicles from each country. Each tank is detailed with data on armor thickness and angle (front, side, and rear are recorded separately), target area, armor penetration power of the tank gun, turret rotation range, engine failure rate, and other specifications, accurately reflecting characteristics such as the "high-performance but prone to breakdown Panther D model" and the "low-profile, ambush-oriented IV tank destroyer." The game also includes robust data modification features, allowing players to introduce prototype heavy tanks like the Maus into the Battle of Kursk. The scenarios include short scenarios covering the Western Front, Eastern Front, North African Front, and Pacific Front, as well as free setup scenarios where players can freely organize their units for battle, campaign scenarios that can be played through the course of the German-Soviet War, and 24 scenarios in total, including a new scenario "Special Edition" added in the paperback version.
