■Story In a certain region where yokai roam freely, they were once feared by humans but also regarded as good neighbors until about a decade ago. However, at some point, yokai gradually disappeared from the town. This was primarily due to the negligence of humans, who attributed most of the incidents occurring in the town to yokai. Frustrated by such treatment, the yokai stopped showing themselves in public. As a result, rumors spread, and people's perception shifted, viewing yokai as terrifying beings. Numerous incidents in the town were labeled as the work of yokai. Yet, while some were indeed caused by yokai, others were instigated by greedy humans trying to pin the blame on them. Just as there are good and bad humans, there are also good and bad yokai. People who know nothing about yokai fear them excessively, while yokai, in turn, feel constrained and misunderstood. In an effort to change this situation, one young man decided to take action. 'Yokai Incident Reform Officer' As a bridge between humans and yokai, he punishes mischievous yokai and captures humans who commit crimes while masquerading as yokai. This young man, who protects the peace of both humans and yokai, is both appreciated and despised by both sides. However, he is an indispensable presence for their coexistence. Numerous incidents come to this young man's attention. He tackles these incidents sometimes cautiously, sometimes boldly, collaborating with humans and yokai he has come to know. This is a story about the young man and his noisy yet peaceful daily life with yokai. “Hey, Kappa Uemon! Today, I’m going to catch you for sure!!” “No way! If you can catch me, go ahead and try!” Can the young man protect the peace between humans and yokai!? There is much uncertainty. ■Characters ● Kawarabe Mizusumi (CV: Kasumi Yomogi) Species: Kappa She has a bright and carefree personality and doesn’t sweat the small stuff. She has an insatiable love for cucumbers, and if given one, she will usually comply with requests. She sees humans as good neighbors and often targets the behinds of humans she likes. She doesn’t particularly care about being seen by humans and has been spotted walking around town without hiding. She is the true identity of the infamous thief, Kappa Uemon. Her goal is to use the money she steals to buy a piece of land in town to create a cucumber field. She only steals from those who engage in wicked deeds, making her popular among the townspeople. She has mastered a unique swordsmanship style known as Cucumber Kenjutsu. “Kappa, kappa, kappa! The great thief Kappa Uemon has arrived!!” ● Tenjo Gyakuza (CV: Meruka Manome) Species: Ceiling Dweller She is shy and suffers from blushing. A social recluse, she panics and turns bright red when others look at her. When no one is watching, she is calm and rational. She is knowledgeable about adult matters and is quite curious about them, though she tends to be reserved. She is the form of a woman who met an untimely death and has merged with her house. She is always upside down. If she stands normally, she becomes dizzy due to a lack of blood to her head. She dislikes being in public and takes on all the administrative tasks. She is also skilled in stealth, able to infiltrate any place with a ceiling. “Ah, please don’t turn me upside down... I’ll run out of blood to my head~.”
