■□■Story■□■ A society where marine development has advanced significantly compared to the present. In order to solve the three issues of population growth, increased food production, and environmental control, plans for offshore cities and underwater cities have been formulated one after another, with countries competing to head towards the sea. Similarly, space development is also progressing, but at this point, marine development is the focus. With the industrialization of methane hydrates, Japan, boasting a vast ocean area, has become a leading marine nation, welcoming many international students. However, wherever there is light, there is shadow. The small island "Nagi no Shima," which once thrived and attracted many tourists on the Pacific side during the early stages of development, has now become a forgotten island with only a small supply port, resembling a once-prosperous coal mining town. In an effort to revive the island, the islanders decided to establish a maritime training school with government grants to attract young people. Although Nagi no Shima is located in the path of typhoons, it is centered around a safe artificial environment. It is slightly off the main shipping routes, minimizing the risk of encountering other vessels, and has a harsh environment surrounding it. Additionally, it possesses all the necessary conditions for marine training in nearby waters, making it an optimal location for a training school. Thus, the newly established "Public Nagi Maritime Training School" attracted young people who wished to excel at sea, drawn by the significantly reduced tuition fees thanks to the support of financially stable nations and local governments. Simple and kind, her existence embodies the island itself. Originally a clumsy girl who lived on the island, she is so skilled at swimming that people say, "It's like you were born in the water," resembling a mermaid. However, she is hopeless with machines and has a tendency to press buttons she shouldn't touch. Her goal is to revive the island. She is the granddaughter of the village chief and takes pride in her long hair, which resembles her mother's. In fact, she met the protagonist when they were children. She secretly envies the bond that the protagonists are forming. Gradually, she begins to visit the island during her vacations, increasing her opportunities to interact with the protagonists.
