**■□■Story■□■** The "Inspector," who carries the prestige of the Empire and has the authority to supervise local lords as the Emperor's eyes and ears, is a prestigious position that can only be attained by those who have excelled in a facility where orphans from within the territory are raised directly by the Emperor during a specific period...at least in theory. Legally, the Inspector has the authority to independently carry out administration, taxation, and judicial duties as a representative of the Emperor and is said to be the backbone of the Empire's stability. Unfortunately, the reality is that this role has become a mere formality. Many local lords within the Empire find the Inspectors bothersome, and it has become customary for them to refrain from exercising their authority unless there is a significant case of corruption. Despite the prestige of the Emperor, the Inspectors themselves are not nobles, often facing political pressure. The protagonist, a rookie Inspector, is in his third year of service. He has just begun to be able to go to his assigned territory alone, but he is suddenly ordered to take up his post in a remote area with nothing of note. Thus, the protagonist embarks on a mission to revitalize the village and make the villagers prosperous, declaring, "I will make it so that you can pay double the taxes!"
