At first, Momiji consults with her older sister Mashiro, wanting to go together. However, she is informed that this time she is expected to handle the request alone. Momiji, lacking confidence, responds that she cannot do it alone, but is told that there is not just one request; another will be handled by her sister Mashiro. Although Momiji's spiritual power is not as high as her sister's, it is still greater than that of an average exorcist priestess. Having gained experience in yokai extermination by assisting Mashiro, her grandfather encourages her, stating she is capable enough to take on the request alone. After arriving at the shrine where the request is to be fulfilled, Momiji heads out to investigate the anomalies.
