■Story ―― "The Four Gentlemen" (Shikunshi). That is―― Suu Sasamaru Kukagami Hiyo Yumeno Araragi Kashi Harutsuge A group of childhood friends consisting of one boy and three girls. However, they ended up parting ways, and the once close-knit group is now no more. Sasamaru, who was looking forward to reuniting more than anyone else, receives the news of his admission to Yumemidori Academy. The girls have also been accepted as students of the academy's "Red Group." However, the girls' attitudes upon their reunion at the academy are quite cold. "It's about time we graduated from this play-acting as friends." The harsh reality is presented before him. Yet, believing in the bond he once shared with his friends, Sasamaru is determined to invest everything in the "Ayana Festival." He hopes to recreate the same relationship he once had with them while working together as part of the "Red Group." At first, the girls are distant, but Sasamaru's unwavering attitude slowly begins to change their hearts―― One by one, they start to lend a hand in the creative process. Although the outcome of the Ayana Festival ends in failure, a new relationship is forged through the act of creation. Amidst this, Sasamaru is pointed out for having had a faint crush on Araragi in the past. The protagonist gradually becomes more aware of Araragi―― All the while, he remains oblivious to Hiyo's hidden feelings of sadness. --- **Characters** ● Suu Sasamaru (CV: Kijima Uta) The "Bamboo" of the "Four Gentlemen" and the protagonist of this story. Due to family circumstances, he arrives at the academy over a year late. He possesses a peculiar trait where he achieves mental focus by recalling odd bits of knowledge. His preference for "harmony" causes him to be seen as somewhat old-fashioned. Though he is short, he doesn't particularly care about it. He values the existence of "friends" above all, especially the "Four Gentlemen," who saved him; they are sacred to him. He cannot compromise on them and believes they are worth protecting with his life. He looks forward to reuniting with the members of the "Four Gentlemen" who have drifted apart. ● Kukagami Hiyo (CV: Aoyama Yukari) The "Chrysanthemum" of the "Four Gentlemen," a daughter of the prestigious and wealthy Kukagami family, a powerhouse in the medical field. She is a perfect girl with an elegant and intellectual demeanor, gifted with talent and never neglecting her efforts. Her high intelligence is evident in her actions and words, and growing up surrounded by medical professionals has given her extensive knowledge in that field. However, her nature leans more towards that of a nurse than a doctor. She has a sibling-like relationship with the protagonist but also tends to see him as a "patient," believing that caring for him is her duty. After parting ways with the "Four Gentlemen," she has continued to exchange letters with the protagonist. ● Yumeno Araragi (CV: Arisugawa Miyami) The "Orchid" of the "Four Gentlemen," and one year younger than the protagonist in the "Red Group." Even when feeling down and walking with her head down, just being by her side gives people the energy to look up and walk again; she is a bright and cheerful mood maker. With a small stature and a maternal quality that envelops everything, she sometimes introduces strange rules that confuse those around her, known as the "Araragi Rules." Also referred to as "The Teachings of the Headmaster." These rules stem from the teachings of someone she admires as a benefactor, but for some reason, her interpretations lead to actions that appear quite "uncle-like." However, she gets angry when called "uncle." But she is indeed "uncle-like." ● Kashi Harutsuge (CV: Sakura Hazuki) The "Plum" of the "Four Gentlemen," and one year older than the protagonist in the "Red Group." She gives off an impression of being a strict older sister with her back always straightened, but she is feared as "the top of the hierarchy you must not oppose if you want to live peacefully at this academy." According to Hiyo, "When I enrolled, she was already reigning as the boss of the academy." This has become a natural part of her life since childhood, and she has grown accustomed to it. Her true identity is that of a "perverted king." She often throws out inappropriate jokes, confusing those around her. Especially when it comes to Hiyo, she seems to have a deep obsession, often provoking her and enjoying the scolding she receives, exhibiting a complex perversion. She is also great friends with Araragi and is always seen with her. To the protagonists, she holds the position of a good older sister. ● Waka (CV: Manaka Umi) A mysterious girl who appears before the protagonist as "the Student Council President's messenger." Her role within the student council gives her a "cold" and "business-like" impression, but her demeanor towards Hiyo, whom she adores as "sister," presents a different image. On the contrary, she harbors a strong dislike for the protagonist, whom she perceives as somewhat old-fashioned, calling him "old man" and aggressively targeting him as a subject of her disdain. She often pulls out a kitchen knife from nowhere. She expresses her love for milk tea in a nonsensical way, saying, "Let's cherish calling milk tea 'mirukuchii.'" ● Aoi Sisters (Elder Sister CV: Uehara Elena, Younger Sister CV: Kasumi Haruka) Students belonging to the "Blue Group," rivals competing in the academy's autumn cultural festival, the "Ayana Festival." They hold a strong pride in being part of the Blue Group and even raised a blue anthem upon meeting the protagonist. However, due to their impassioned speeches, they forget to introduce themselves, leading the protagonist to call them "Aonee" (Blue Sister) and "Aomai" (Blue Younger Sister) as nicknames. They give off a whirlwind-like impression, where the elder sister loudly proclaims the anthem while the younger sister peeks out from behind her to echo her words. The elder sister is strong-willed, while the younger sister often exhibits mysterious behavior, making it hard to grasp her thoughts, unlike her pure-hearted elder sister. The sisters share a good relationship. For some reason, Hiyo shows a fearful attitude towards them. ● Hito Reito (CV: Shihara Haruka) A student belonging to the "Black Group," competing in the Ayana Festival as a rival. He is a handsome young man with an intellectual aura, but there are glimpses of a sickly and nervous side to him. Nevertheless, he possesses a strong will and an unyielding spirit that does not break under any adversity. ● Han Nobuo (CV: Sugizaki Kazuya) A student belonging to the "White Group," competing in the Ayana Festival as a rival. With a defiant tone and rough attitude, his actions have transformed the White Group into "a class with a notorious reputation" at this esteemed academy. ● Onimune-sensei (CV: Segi Sachi) A staff member teaching at this esteemed academy and the homeroom teacher of the "Red Group." Despite being a woman, she is tall and wears a men's coat, exuding sharp words and an intimidating presence that leaves no room for a second thought. Initially, the protagonist felt compelled to take her classes seriously, thinking, "She's not just anyone," but it turns out she is indeed extraordinary. She is deeply affected by "the peculiarities of adolescence," to an unparalleled degree compared to others. The series of actions she performs every morning during homeroom has become a morning tradition for the students.
