Note: (VJ013725) There is content overlap with the "etude 10th anniversary collector's edition." ■Story The protagonist visits their hometown, Miyagai Village, for the first time in ten years after learning that the only train line passing through the village will be discontinued. If the train no longer runs, they likely won't have the chance to return. So, before that happens, they want to see their birthplace one last time. Until arriving, that was the only motivation. Upon arriving in the village, they find it to be a depopulated mountainous area. Due to various misunderstandings, they fail to secure a place to stay and are left in despair. However, by chance, they encounter their childhood friend, Natsuki. After a brief moment of nostalgia, the protagonist finds themselves explaining their situation. Ultimately, through Natsuki's connections, they end up staying at the Kusahara Shrine, where she works as a shrine maiden, until the day of the line's closure. As the protagonist settles into the village, they begin to unravel past events that they had long forgotten, all while experiencing a slower pace of life compared to the city. The nostalgic landscapes of their hometown, the memories that resurface, and the time spent with the shrine maidens who have various feelings for the land... everything feels different from the usual flow of life. On the eve of the line's closure, the day of the festival, the protagonist learns the feelings embedded in the shrine maidens' ceremonial dances, as well as the reasons behind the line's discontinuation. What should be inherited, what should be left behind... the place of that promise etched in their soul... Characters ● Natsuki Misaka (CV: Hina Kamimura) The protagonist's childhood friend who reunites after ten years. She is living and working at Kusahara Shrine due to certain circumstances. Cheerful and innocent, she follows the protagonist around on their hometown tour, sharing nostalgic stories, but occasionally says things that confuse the protagonist. ● Kune Kazami (CV: Mia Naruse) Recognized as the poster girl of Kusahara Shrine, she can predict the weather and even make prophecies, but her overly gentle personality makes her seem absent-minded. She wishes to exorcise the spirit of a woman attached to a shrine stone and seeks the protagonist's help to do so. ● Kohaku Tachibana (CV: Mio Takeda) A shrine maiden at Kusahara Shrine who lives nearby. She is strict with herself and others, including the protagonist. She is dedicated to her dream of wielding the sacred sword enshrined at the shrine and relentlessly trains in swordsmanship. ● Akane Osawa (CV: Nodoka Shimotsuki) The owner of the candy store "Osawa-ya," which the protagonist frequently visited, and a shrine maiden at Kusahara Shrine. She loves festivals and children, and is well-informed, but is notably stingy when it comes to money.
