Suddenly attacked by a monster, she was saved by a mysterious boy who wielded a brush like a sword to cut things down. He introduced himself as "Kurofude" and called the girl "Shirahime" in a familiar tone. However, the girl had no recollection of the boy's face or the name he called her. This was because all her memories had vanished from her mind. According to Kurofude, this place is "Adabana-sato," a world within a picture book. Every story, just like a dream, leaves nothing behind once it is awoken, no matter how deeply one is immersed in it. Thus, this world was named Adabana—flowers that bloom but bear no fruit. Their role, it seemed, was to traverse the fairy tale world here and keep watch for any distortions in the story's progression. The fragile-looking Shirahime, resembling a puppet, opened the book handed to her as instructed. The title was—"Hanasaka Jiisan." As the picture book, which was nearly decayed and full of insect holes, was opened, a dazzling light emanated from its pages, and the boy and girl were whisked away into the world of the fairy tale. ### Characters ● Kurofude (CV: Wataru Kato) A boy clad in black clothing. He bears the mission of "traversing the world of stories and correcting any distortions," and previously dedicated himself to this alongside Shirahime. With the brush he carries in his quiver, he repairs the missing letters in the picture book. At times, he wields it like a sword to cut down enemies. He is calm and composed, with a character that does not falter in the face of anything. "Do you understand what Adabana means? It refers to flowers that wither without ever bearing fruit." ● Shirahime (CV: Saki Minami) A girl in a pure white kimono who has lost her memory. According to Kurofude, before losing her memory, she was one of the guides who corrected distorted stories. By capturing paper-eating silverfish with her hands, she can extract the devoured letters in the form of ink. She has a kind heart and a modest personality. "...It feels as if there is a fog over my mind." **From Urashima Taro** ● Otohime (CV: Yuki Kuwahara) The master of the magnificent castle at the bottom of the sea, "Ryugu-jo." Books that have had important letters eaten lose track of their story's progression.
